First impressions are everything! The first impression you make on a potential employer can make a big difference in the outcome of your job interview. Your connections can refer you for a job, provide inside information on the company, and tell you what to expect during the interview.

How much do you know about the company? It should be plenty, and all the information you need is available online. Start by visiting the company website. There, you can review the organization’s mission statement and history, services and management, as well as information about the company culture. The information is usually available in the about us section of the site. Next, check the company’s social media accounts. Visit their Facebook, Google+, Instagram, and Twitter pages. This will give you a good sense of how the company wants its consumers to see it. Like or follow the company to get updates. You’ll find the information you may not have found otherwise.
Be prepared for a phone interview
While you’re actively job searching, it’s important to be prepared for a phone interview on short notice. You never know when a recruiter or a networking contact might call and ask if you have time to talk about a job opportunity.
